On March 27, 2012 Lutheran Refugee Services proudly presented Aramark with the Employer of the Year Award. The Aramark branch, in charge of hiring janitorial positions at Franklin and Marshall College, has been honored for their commitment to helping our refugees obtain employment. Both Angel Ramirez, Manager of Custodial Services, and Ken MacIntire, Director of Custodial Services, were given awards.
Bilal Al Tememi, one of Lutheran Refugee Services job developers, originally heard about Aramark through Careerlink and made an appointment to meet with Mr. Ramirez. After explaining our services, Aramark hired three of our refugees. From there, they have hired an additional five refugee employees in the span of only a few months and are very pleased with the workers’ performances. Mr. Macintire expressed his appreciation of our clients’ positive attitudes, prodigious work ethic, and hard work.
This partnership is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when community organizations work together to help better the futures of Lancaster’s newly arrived refugee community members. Lutheran Refugee Services is looking forward to helping Aramark in the coming years with their employment needs.
